I am very sorry to say that one of my older horses that went out to what I thought was a loving home, has come back to us very under weight. The Humane Society contacted me and I picked him up that same day.
My pet rescue originally started as a senior pet rescue for older unwanted, unhealthy and broken down pets. I wanted to house these animals and let them live out their senior lives in peace. What had happened is the economy turned upside down and I began getting pets of all ages. Mostly horses. Horses were hit hard since they are more expensive to care for. We now have 27 horses from age 3 to 31. Most are injured or problem horses that we can't find homes for.

Our newest rescue came in today. 15.1 hands and weighing in at 873 lbs. He is very much under weight and will need a lot of TLC. Waiting for the vet check so we can move forward with the appropriate care.

Beau was adopted on 10-14-10 and will be trained to be a therapy horse for the disabled.
I have gained 250 pounds since my rescue.
